Undergraduate studying a BA (Hons) in Design Craft Textiles at the University of Hertfordshire.
Intuitively exploring a vast array of techniques and materials, crossing over the boundaries of art, craft, jewellery, costume. Electroforming textiles and using traditional techniques including crochet and embroidery in mediums such as ceramics and metal to produce unique contemporary pieces of art.
As a mature student I have a wealth of experience and inspiration to draw on in my creative exploits. Highly organised and committed due to a long standing background in bookkeeping and running a sugarcraft business specialising in bespoke wedding cakes and teaching. Adept at printing techniques including screen, disperse dye, sublimation and digital. As well as the use of Photoshop and Illustrator. A skilled machinist and hand embroiderer.
Having designed and produced sets for a local theatre group I am keen to broaden my experience and embrace the many opportunities available in textile print design, costume and fashion design. By responding to unique techniques and materials in print, fabric manipulation and surface embellishment I hope to realise dreams of contemporary theatre costume and textile art.
